Bring Horses Permanently to McLaren Park
We are gathering petitions to bring the horses back to McLaren Park. We need you to act.
SF Parks belong to everyone in this city and that includes McLaren. Lets give the kids of the southeast a piece of the pie for a change and make the park safer for all in the end.
Benefits:
- Brings families back to McLaren Park.
- Increases safety in the park with people presence all day and wranglers presence all night.
- More park usage can eventually equate to more park dollars for McLaren and more gardeners.
Let's make McLaren fun again. Send in your petition today!
Bathroom (Porta-Potty) at Peru St. Playground
We are getting a bathroom (PORTA-POTTY) to be placed at the Peru Street Playground but we have to pay for the materials to build an enclosure for it. The materials to build the enclosure could run from about $500 to $1000. This money will reduce our overall net and mean our pancake breakfast in the spring is going to have to be a complete success!
McNab Lake, Louis Sutter - Mosaic Tile Project
Gambier and Burrows Plaza Renovation
This abandoned play area and worn park entrance has been turned into an inviting and warm destination for neighbors, parents, kids, dog walkers and visitors alike. It now has a decorative garden fountain, benches all around, an informational kiosk, bbq's. We can now enjoy a unique place to relax and enjoy McLaren Park!
Peru and Burrows Playground
This McLaren Park Playground project has provided the neighborhood with new play structures and equipment, benches, trash bins, tables, 11 new trees and ground cover, updated ADA, new drainage and irrigation system. This project was able to come to fruition through the dedication and support of Help McLaren Park, a community group that spearheaded the effort for a new playground by applying for and receiving a Community Opportunity Fund Grant under the 2008 Clean and Safe Neighborhood Parks Bond as well as a
Community Challenge before that.
Thanks to Rec & Park for putting together such a well done piece for us and thanks to the many hard working members of Help McLaren Park for all your service and patience throughout the years. Good things do come to those who wait and no one has waited longer than the friends and neighbors of McLaren Park!
